Description
The Anderson was the last ship to have contact with the Edmund Fitzgerald before the Fitz sank on November 10, 1975. She was following behind by an estimated 10 miles and had to take shelter at Whitefish Bay after calling the Coast Guard to indicate that the Fitzgerald had disappeared from radar and in the last conversation the captain of the Anderson had with the captain of the Fitzgerald, captain McSorely of the Fitz said to Captain Cooper of the Anderson "We're holding our own".
The Arthur M. Anderson is a self-unloading freighter operating on the Great Lakes. It’s shown here on the Saint Clair river that runs between Lake Huron and Lake Saint Clair in Michigan.
