The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island opened in 1887 and is on the Register of Historic places. The movie "Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour was mostly filmed at this historic hotel. The hotel has the largest porch in the world at 660 feet and it on the second floor of the hotel. It has hosted presidents and celebrities, and is known for its gourmet dining experience.
